The Annual meeting is an important event in the life of Kappa Tau Chapter. It is a time to come together to re-new the vitality of our commitment to Sigma Theta Tau International’s mission to promote nursing excellence, scholarship, and leadership. It is also a time to review the accomplishments of the Chapter for the past year and to plan for the year ahead.
Virginia R. Beeson, BSN, MSN, NEA-BC will be speaking on "Facing Our Current Reality: The Need for Radical Leadership". Ginny Beeson is a nurse executive, consultant and educator with over 30 years’ experience in nursing. Her primary work involves building leader-ship capacity and changing/ trans-forming organizational culture in support of a more positive, productive and professional workplace.
Awards Given by Kappa Tau Chapter at the Annual Meeting: Nursing Excellence Awards- honoring leadership and scholarship in nursing practice, administration, education. Folta-Deck Award- for research in nursing. Research Grant Award- either for completed research, research in progress, or proposal in development. Friend of Nursing Award: recognizes an individual or organization that is not eligible for reg-ular membership but has impacted the chapter, the local nursing or health care community, and/or the health of people in a significant way.
